
Connor Dickie is a scientist, artist, inventor and futurist who explores the edge of human-machine communication. He has developed a number of novel computing platforms that augment and share human memory and maximize attention. His interests lie in the creation and dissemination of modern mythologies that will inform and empower future generations.
Connor has had a wide range of professional roles including Producer of a broadcast television show aired on a local CBC affiliate, Experience Director of the TED Prize nominated “Changing The World” youth innovation conference, Technical Director of the “10sec 1bayt” national poetry contest in Tajikistan and Consultant to InteraXon Inc., a “Thought Controlled Experience” company that is best known for their multi-user BCI installation in the Ontario Pavilion at the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Connor is also Creative Director at kameraflage Inc., a company he founded to commercialize a new type of patent-pending display technology that he invented specifically to address cyborg and camera culture.
Many of Connor’s artistic and scientific projects have been featured in outlets such as Wired Magazine, Wired NextFext, Shanghai MoMA Biennial, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Art, Gadgetoff, BoingBoing, Engadget, Gizmodo, Slashdot, Siggraph, The Guardian, ScienceWorld, Scientific American, Google TechTalks, BBC and CNN to name just a few.
Connor studied Film, Computer Science and Media Arts and Science at both the Human Media Lab at Queen’s University and the MIT Media Lab. He will continue his studies this Summer at the Singularity University at NASA Ames Research Centre.
